Personal hygiene is extremely important and I think such odours can be managed .Most importantly, the person must admit he/she has such issues and find ways to tackle them.Eg. seeing a doc. , get pharmaceutical advises on products to curb the problems and stay away from food that causes the 'stench'.
I will not reject a friendship coz of odours but I will feel very uncomfortable to be too close to him/her.

ask the person to soak in bathub of FAB, with mouth wide open .make sure mouth also got FAB soaked inside. 100% sure no stinko smell for months.

bad breath comes from the tongue... last time i had bad breath and i ask dentist for help, paying alot of money but they never say anything about the tongue, just say brush teeth regularly kind of shit, which i found ineffective, that's when i give up on dentist as none of them gave a solution... finally i research on google, and that's when my bad breath goes away... dentist 0 vs google 1. just brush teeth and scrap tongue regularly, put colgate on tongue to neutralize the bad breath caused by the bacteria.

BTW, Bad breath can be eliminated. I don't think any illness cannot be cured. Just that we don't know the cure doesn't mean there's no cure.
