Satellite images show sprawling
cities built in remote parts of China that were left completely
abandoned, years after their construction.
Elaborate public buildings are completely unused, except for a few government vehicles near communist authority offices.
Some estimates put the number of empty homes at 64 million, with up to 20 new cities being built every year in the country.
Regional governments in China built massive real estate projects, including Kangbashi in Inner Mongolia and Zhengzhou New District, which have remained empty.
Kangbashi, built in just five years, was meant to be the urban centre for Ordos City - home to 1.5million people.
It was filled with office towers, administrative centres, museums, theatres and sports facilities as well as thousands of homes, but is virtually deserted.
Famous short-seller Jim Chanos issued a dire warning, said he expected China's economy to implode in a real estate bust.
He said the country was 'on an economic treadmill to hell' and the country's bubble was 'Dubai times 1,000'.
what an coincidence, i had read wikis on abandoned cities around the world last night. the most notable one being chernobyl, there are many ghost cities in US too etc...

not only that city in Ukraine, but many others like those in central US.The americans just simply abandon it on their free will.
we're not talking about cities that were abandoned in China........
China is building multiple cities every year just to keep economic growth at 8%............artificially.........
these cities were never occupied by people in the 1st place............
