Hi guys, I am in a dilemma. I have just gotten a L1R5 of 11 (7 if extra points are counted) for my O Levels. My aim was for VJC, but that is now not possible as the COP is 5 for Arts and 4 for Science. I'm left with TJC and the rest of the lower entry-criteria JCs. Should I continue in a JC or choose a good Polytechnic course? I am quite interested in studying International Business at either Singapore Polytechnic or Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I am eligible for both. Which path should I choose since getting into a university is much harder from Polytechnics since only 15% of the admission quota is set for Polytechnic students? And what about NS? I will turn 18 during my second year at Poly (if I choose so). Do I have to serve NS before finishing my 3rd year?
You will have to serve NS after you finish JC or poly. Which means 2 years from now or 3 years if you are in poly. Imo a JC will be better entering in Uni through the poly route is also possible if you get a high Gpa.

wow sia la 11 points sia. L1R5 some more.
if you want go university smothly thn choose jc lor.
But poly you still can go jc if you work hard which i think you can seeing your cop.
As for the ns thing you can defer it till after you finsih your poly third year.
Is there a use to appeal to enter VJC? 2 points away from meeting the COP?
Isn't TJC better than MJC?

If you have really outstanding achievements in sports competitions or science fairs and such, you can go ahead and try.
just go to TJC. it is not a bad school
jc life = secondary sch life
poly life= time management
