Hi guys, I got a topic I have to work on for my subject.
I hope you guys can help me out by pouring some points into it.
Thanks alot.
So, honestly, has your spending habits changed compared 10 years ago and now?
Or let's narrow down the range. 5 Years ago and now?
So think about it. And tell me how it CHANGED!?!
I wanna know:)
i had changed my spending habit since i am on my own now compared to 6 yrs back, yes no parent support no nothing.
5 years ago, I have a job as a car washing attendant at a petrol station in Paya Lebar and I earn about 200 dollars a month. That time handphones are quite expensive and my pay cannot get one.So I spend it on music albums. Now unemployed for quite some time.I can no longer buy a music album and the latest Jay Chou Concert album is very expensive. Now I invest in food.
I planning to save my money to upgrade to a better handphone. My current handphone has no colour screen and I am eyeing a cameraphone from Cash Converter for 49 dollars. My current lifestyle allow such a upgrade.
Ever since I started invested in food last year, I have become an expert in food and drink.I know the latest food and drink in town.
Of course, the more I earn the more I spend. Last time I only eat at sucky sushi, nowadays akashi FTW.

Use to eat $2 rice and such only. Occasionally eat at Mcdonald.
After I knew of the taste of Astons specialties and such, I started to visit them often and spent more on food.
Besides these, general spending habit still did not change much.
i think the main difference is that 5 years ago, maybe i am not so crazy about the latest gadgets like phone, laptop, camera, tablet.... but nowadays it is like must have....
i think that is the main difference...
Used to spend a lot on movies, food, and even clothes.
Nowadays one whole year, I buy clothes once a year only.
Food remains, but definitely restaurant dining has been converted over to food court dining. Movies twice a month becomes movies once every 2 months....
Here are some interesting facts to share:)
Consumers shopping behavior 2009 (During the bad times)
1. 56% of consumers eat at home more often and go to restaurant less often
2. More than one-third of consumers surveyed report going to bars or clubs less often
3. A greater tendency to buy larger packages

of course 5 years ago my taste and preferences are different.
As i grow older i pay more attention to my appearance and fashion , so i spend alot on clothes and movies and food too.

10 years ago, I hardly remember, it was all about science, english, chinese, higher chinese and so on, I was a bespected pigtailed gal with pimples in my forehead, 5 years ago, I worked as a bartender, cashier and also kitcher helper, not much point to ponder over it. If sg govt dun change, frankly, nothing much change except everything goes up
5 years ago, business is good. I tend to spend a lot....
now.. business is bad.. change to conservatism mode. Only buy needs...
