Need help regarding sending letters TO UK
what type of stamps should i use ? any normal stamps(from anywhere) or stamps from singpost
how long would they take to mail out
i did some research on the webby and i found out there's airmail / surface mail
airmail = around a week
surface mail = few weeks
so which category does my mail falls under?
thanks for the help
if you write "Airmail" on the envelope or stick the Airmail sticker on it, it'll be airmail...
and SingPost is the postal service of Singapore... they print the stamps so you can use any of their stamps except those with the print "for local use only"
there is a thingy called .....that may serve your timely needs though ex..

Visit www.singpost.com.sg to find out more. Or go to the nearest post office to ask.
You will have to pay a lot more so you definitely have to buy stamps that start from $1. They wun accept Local Mail stamps that is worth like 26 cents each. SAM machine allows you to buy stamps meant for overseas posting.
Air mail - Sent by aeroplane. Usually takes 2-3 weeks.
Surface mail - Sent by ship. Usually takes 2-3 months.
there's a post box under my house , if i put the letter in it falls under surface mail?
if i wana get it done via airmail do i have to go to the post office and stamp it?
go to post office
give ur letter to the counter staff, they will tell u the postage fee
u pay and u will get the stamps required
if the staff is nice, he/she will paste the stamp for u
if long Q, u take the stamps, lick them, paste on the envelope, and drop it in the mailbox labelled other countries
if u want it to be registered (somehas has to sign on a slip to receive the letter), it's additional $2.20
if the letter is in a standard size and not heavy, u can refer to the postage rates here
bulky mail has got to be weighed at the counter and the computer will calc the postage
Go to the post office and get some nice stamps.
Those overseas receiving the letters would be very happy with the stamps.
Don't use those labels from SAM.

PO staff smart. Give you stamps must give two or more pieces up the the value you need. Must total up correctly, end of the day must account for the balance at hand.
Give you label print one piece only.
You must ask for the stamps. PO staff fed up, but your Europe recipient happy to get the stamps.
if it contains some confidential stuffs then it would be better to send via registered post..
