I'm student in UK.
I'll be studying in NUS from August, to continue my degree (i already started here).
To answer your question NUS is very good by any standard.
according to a table i looked at its #9 ranked in the world (for engineering), equal with Oxford university. :)
NUS very good already, and being local, you save plenty of money, go for it.

No lah it is also well recognized in China and India.
NUS, NTU are good unis for engineering courses.
They are well accredited, professional certifications.
but. the profession itself, is ....
You see many Chinese and India students there, under Singapore scholarship plan
If you ask for my honest opinion, our singapore market is pretty saturated with EEE graduates looking for job opportunities, fortunately there is still a good demand.
Your main competition would be from burmese graduates who have come to singapore searching for the same job prospects as you have. Most of them would be equipped with double degrees, or masters, compared to your single honours degree in EEE.
They are also willing to undercut your asking salary by up to 40%, which makes them real attractive to employers here.
The above are my observations from working in M&E jobs the past 4 years. I am still in engineering, but a different field, coz I found my salary stagnant due to the influx of these uh graduates. No, I am not a EEE graduate.
What makes you think I wish to work in this hellhole?
Well, you're taking the diploma now, so you're halfway there. Unless you wish to spend 4 years taking up a not-so-relevant degree. I dunno what your plans are, so I dunno what to say.
I am doing engineering from SP also.
By any chance are you doing aerospace electronics, or specialising on this option in your 2nd year ?
If yes,are you interested in taking the Civil Aviation Authority Singapore(CAAS) basic examination papers ?
Cos after clearing all the basic papers and a few other more 'advanced' paper, you can apply for the SAR-66 license aircraft engineer license.
I am looking for people to take this examination with me
Also, are you interested in driving boats/yacht?
I am also looking for current SP students to attend the Powered Pleasure Craft Driving License(PPCDL) course with me. After the completion of the course, you can apply for the PPCDL Theory and Practical Examination, which will qualify you to apply for the PPCDL, enabling you to drive motor boats with SZ/SZH plates.
Captain Ho from the SP Singapore Maritime Academy should most likely be conducting the course.
Speaking of post diploma education, i hope i will get a chance to get into local university, maybe i can get a degree. If i can get a degree, i plan to try to get a masters degree if my brain is smart enough to do it.
My plan will be to work a few years in the engineering industry, and after which help out with my father's business(although not engineering related), or be a part time lecturer(you see how crappy some lecturers can get)
NTU and NUS is well recognized in Singapore. As for international repution, I would say NUS, also I am a NTU engineering student.
For Electronic Engineering, NTU may be the best in this field.
