why wasn't guerilla warfare used against the americians

If you read through military history, you will know that guerilla warfare is very effective against an enemy stronger than you.
The best example will be china during world war 2. They were weaker than Japan but through the effective usage of guerilla warfare, they caused great damages to the japanese army.
Why is it that in the iraq war, afghastian war etc, why they never use guerilla warfare against the americians?
They can lauch suprise attacks on the americian camps at midnight and kill as many soliders as possible when they are still sleeping and than run away after 10 to 30 miniutes so that when the americians wake up and get ready for battle, their enemies have already disappeared.
This will cause the americians soilders to be very stress out because they don't know when the enemies will attack them so they everynight also can't sleep in peace.
They will have no choice but to give up the war and go back to their country

What are you talking about?
Using suicide bombers on American troops isn't guerrilla warfare?
Or placing IEDs on road junctions to ambush military convoys?
Or launching hit-and-run mortar attacks on military bases?
To you, all these aren't examples of guerrilla tactics?

The last thing the Vietnamese want would be any war now.
For every GI maimed through whatever guerilla tactics, USAF sent a dozen bombs flying, napalmed people, mined harbours, sprayed Agent Orange etc etc.
War is indeed a terrible thing. Are you sure Vietnam "won"?

With air support, guerilla warfare is pretty painful if you dun have air cover.

Yar..that's why US just wiped out certain areas....don't care about innocents. Though that kind of war is abit different to the ones we have in the middle east now.Everyone who encourages war now are gorrilas themselves anyway....

Of cuz, the insurgent in iraq and taliban in afganistan r using guerilla warfare. They r not stupid, because they cannot stand the might of usa forces. They use IED to ambush the american convoys. Very effective because it demoralises the americans. How would you feel if you see your buddy in NS torn to shreds by IED? And then it slow down the supply convoy to supply the bases. Very effective because for every IED, the taliban can kill 5 americans with no loss of taliban combatants. They can plant their IED anywhere and anytime, it is almost impossible to detect them. Also, america has to rely on mobile thin armored humvees to transportation because they cannot transport tanks by air into landlocked afganistan. So IED could easily penetrate the armor of humvees. Moreover, afganistan terrain is very rugged and mountainous not practical to bring tanks in.
The taliban also resort to assasinations of local afgan government leaders to weaken the government. And they infiltrate into the afgan national army and then later relay confidential potential military operations to their taliban counterparts. Sometimes these spies who enter the afgan army will engage in suicide missions while doing patrols with NATO troops to kill as many as possible.

nobody wins in a war, and the vietnam war, technically they won the battle but they lost the war... look at them the americans now, they are rich and powerful and majority of their citizens are enjoying their lives compared to say Vietnam where the economy is still recovering after so many years. People who said Vietnam won the war, I mean, some of the babies were born with defects after the war, these damage last generations... I know about US debt levels but I can talk about that all day and it'll be out of topic so I won't... but country debts are different from individual debts, remember country can print money to pay off debts, individuals can't, but printing money to pay debts have other sets of problems, but i won't dwell into that to avoid going out of topic.
