  Happen to read this article in stomp that a father put up a $5k bond to ensure that his son behaves properly during the probation period.
  
  Is this bond the same as the police bail that you sign on to ensure that the person does not escape?
  
  does the father need to physically pay the 5k bond to the court or he just sign a letter stating that he will have to pay 5k if the son never behave himself?
