i'm planning to go to sydney to study at the University of Sydney for my bachelor's degree.
i am wondering what is the opinion of the bachelor's degree from the university of sydney, esp to employers in singapore.
is it recognized? reputable enough?
moreover, i am intending to major in Geography, Bachelor of Arts degree. is there any other jobs that a geography major could do in singapore, apart from the teaching field.
thank you for your assistance.
It is recognised, no worry. Somebody I know from there got a professional job in Sg. According to source, it is a good uni.
I do not know how much you plan to spend for your studies there. And hopefully you would stay there and not come back.Trust me it's a lot better there.
Anyway study in a good Uni and it should be recognised here. Internationally its much better than all the Unis in SG. However no one likes to admit it here^^
it's one of australia's G8 (group of 8)
probably 1 of top 3 (ranking varies every year)
Me thinkx you can go to oxford or some ulu uni in the middle of an african desert, but if your other skills/experience are not up to scratch....then you'll still eventually loose out to others.
yes, having a reputable uni on your resume looks impressive and 'may' set you apart from the rest initially.
I think in today's job-market, it still helps, but employers tend to look at the whole package.
Uni of Syd is a good uni in Aust, but not the best (by rankings). If you want to go by rankings, then NUS is up there too....in fact better that Uni of Syd.
