I'm right away dismissive of male teachers who shower extra care on the pretty ones. He shouldn't teach in the first place.

To a certain extent it's true.
But for my case, I last time have one student very hard working. One week, we chalk up 20 hours worth of lesson. But I charged him only 10 hours. I don't mind spending extra time when hardworking student. Now I think he's part of the school sports team.
