Why should we singaporean born and bred here, retire in a foreign land?

I have many Malaysian friends, they have never had any security problems. I think security there should be reasonably ok if we do not go around showing off our wealth. -

How much $ do you prepare for your retirement ? It deps...because if it's not enough, u may get into financial trouble....if its alot, why choose M'sia ? It can be Aussie or NZ....even Canada......

If you're non-malay, better to retire in places like penang or ipoh.
