It the same like as Roman English, Anglo Saxon English, American English, French English, British English and Scot English.
Baba come from the time of chinese immgrant marrying malay gals in the southern strait, their decendent speak Malaysia's malay with a chinese culture and religion
Bahasa Malay, official language for both Singapore and Malaysia
Pasar Malay, are slant malay, like america English, more rough in a sense, the name Pasar means Market.
And of course Indonesia Malay is Bahasa Indonesia, abit different from Bahasa Malay in term of accents and meaning of some words. I am good at it.

To try to rephrase what Felix Chia wrote in his book Ala Sayang! (< a very old book) (i am not referring to the book now, just remembered what I read before) :
All Malays can understand what Babas are speaking, but it's not true vice-versa; a Baba will not understand all the Malays that the Malay speak.
=========================================================
Indonesian Malay and Malaysian Malay (by right) stemmed from oneness. (To quote Angel7030:) They became so different in their accents and some word usages so-much-so that, when I watch RTM3, all those Indonesian shows are even all subtitled again in Malay so that it becomes more intelligible to the Malays of Malaysia !

Javanese, Sundanese etc would be offended
There is Bahasa Indonesia but not equal to 'Indonesia Malay'. Melayu (people or language), strictly speaking, is confined to the people of northern region of Sumatra and in Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo and some other lesser known areas
realli?
