Heard this from a superstitious relative.
Is it true that guy and girl with the same surnames cannot be couples and get married???
From what I heard, it is like marrying your own brother or sister since he/she has the surname as yours.
Is it true??? ![]()

Okay. Do you know how this sir names came about?
In the past, the Chinese in china lived in different towns(sorry I don't know the technical term).
For example, people with 'Lee' as their sir name can be from the same town.
Same sir name
Doesnt mean that they have siblings because they can come
From the same town.

nah, like what you say, superstitious relative.
hahah where got such things...after so many generations of filtering believe the gene is dilluted already.
Dont see any harm in sharing the same surname with your spouse. But it would be cool to have your partner share the same surname as you do.
Same surname with no blood relation is OK to marry.
Wat they are concerned about is same surname may be from the same bloodline.
Looking at family tree might shed some light...
If no family tree, go blood test.
now most live in HDB, how to plant family tree?
same surname not a problem lah, Lee and Lee also same mah
