when i was young in my primary school.. remember the days taking sbs bus 172 from upper bukit timah road opposite ten mile wet market at the overhead bridge to ama keng (now sunny home) cost only 10cents (student) and adult only paid 40cents.. 36 seater and allow only 17 standing.. very cosy and pleasant journey although no aircon.. and not only that.. all the bus services then.. including the single door at mid section.. the rule is simple.. after every seat full.. standing allowed is half the seating capacity.. if not ROV (now LTA) for sure stopped the driver and issue summon.. sometime ROV made road block or ambush.. but saturday night or during peak hours drivers had to take the risk of taking more standing passenger... and there is also Scheme B bus services run by so called private operator.. but now.. you pay more but you get less.. except for the caterpillar bus.. the others were that 15 sitting 40 standing.. not to mentioned MRT.. new generation train where the seats seem to be missing... talk about taxi and pawang chia (private taxi).. carry as many people can squeeze into the car.. not now.. only seat 4 and also pay more...
SO.. PAST TIME YOU PAY LESS FOR MORE BUT NOW YOU PAY MORE GET LESS

wat to do.. sent to straits time and lianhe zhabao and also complaint to my mp but got no response mah... see for urself.. SMRT and SBS every year increase price even though they are not in the red.. why?? juz to earn more only.. dis year earn 50million next year must earn 60million.. following year must go higher maybe 80million.. i think you understand the point...

Then when it come to PUB bill, they keep changing the formulas, make us blur blur on calculating it, in the end give up on it, paid what is written, that makes them Cheaper (do not have to explain), better (no need to keep track) and faster (just collect every month)
