I am thinking....if I am not wrong archaeologist in singapore found that Singapore was also a port( because archaeologist found blue and white chinese porcelain of yuan dynasty( 1279-1368)
According to Wang Dayuan, Singapore was a trading centre in the 1330s to 1340s. So I am thinking, could the black death be responsible for scaring people away from the trading port because of black death, then later singapore gets forgotten??
If black death spread to singapore - would it not be fair to say that china or malacca would be affected? So far no historical record suggest the more busy port of malacca, goa or china have gotten black death.
Singapore was not a prominent port then because there was a more famous port where indian and china trader go - Malacca port.
