I refer an agent who was a convicted loan shark and more recently served time for a
serious crime. The thing is he is given an extension to practice as a
real estate agent.
CEA (Council for Estate Agents) have that agents cannot have criminal
records. I can understand if the offense of loan shark was overlooked as
they might want to give him a chance to turn over a new leaf. However,
the 2nd conviction was very recent.
I have 2 friends who were property agents, and were not given any chance
to continue being an agent due to having record. But their records were
minor compared to this.
Recently the chief of SCDF and CNB were investigated and were made to
leave their post after CPIB investigation. I wonder if CPIB should also
investigate CEA? Did CEA receive any kopi money?
Anyone been to CEA ? I think they are quite unprofessional as it is a new body.
May be there should be a separate forum for Agents and CEA.

those people should go be lonasharl runners lah. spolit property agent image for what? ![]()
I'm concerned of double standards. If they stated that convicted persons, especially serious breach of law, should not be an agent so to protect the interests of consumers, then why was 1 of my friend penalised for a less serious offence?
