I have a long scar about 15cm on my left arm.
On days when I am well hydrated, the scar look less visible.
On days I drink less water, the scar look more obvious.

Don't let the scar bother you, let the scar be a reminder of who you are and what you've been through. Mine scar gives me the power to move on in life and give me the opportunity to scare little kids.

Wah! now I recall, I also have a paper cut on my right index finger, look like recovering liao!

try rose hip oil or vit E. someone also recommended Haruhad Vitamin C Activator (Jap brand, found in Sasa)

if ts is looking for a cheaper way, apply hand sanitiser.
it can burn though. :/

Basically to reduce scar appearance, there are 2 things :
1. introduce scrubbing and removal of surface skin
2. promote regeneration of new skin
If you go to a pharmacy, go look for glyclocic acid and / or salacylic acid products, those two are effective and safe chemical srubber.
Nextly, find and apply cream which has vitamin A, C, E, as these 3 vitamics will intensify your new skin regeneration.
For those 2 steps above, you can go to a pharmacy and then talk to a pharmacist for her advice. The products would be relatively cheap and easy to use. Do not worry.
However If your scar is really deep and noticible, the 2 steps above may not be enough to satisfy your expectation, and for the more intensive repair, it may need, laser or mechanical srubbing, and for this you need to go to a dermatologist office and the cost may be higher.

i do have a friend who exploit the scar on the arm and turn it into a nice tattoo around it...
