Agent ask for $1000 just for renewing foreign worker permit

  Hi guys , this agent of my foreign worker renewed his work permit , and he is demanding $1000 from us as agent fee. Before the applying of renewal , he never tell us that it would cost $1000 , only after the permit have been applied , he told us the agent fee is $1000 . does the agent fee cost that much just for helping us to renew his work permit? is it fair? what is the market rate for renewal of work permit agent fees? Should i give in to his request? if the price is too high , can i report this guy to MOM or something? thanks in advanced.

  Since no contract/agreement with the agent, offer him your amount. ask him take n go, if not, just lodge a police report for future reference.

  MOM will not handle your problems with the agent.

  There is no standard rate agent fees. In future, pls make sure everything before engaging a agent.

  You can also do the renewal yourself through internet.

  I done it on the internet before , but it was rejected for dunno what reason , so called in the agent to do for us , the agent go scared my father say what , once rejected one time, very hard to save , blah blah blah. Was damn pissed off , so what shld i do now? if he dun accept my price? what is the standard market rate?

  no black and white , the agent before that didnt tell us must pay $1000 only after he do the application he tell my father need to give him $1000.

  There is completely no need for an employment agent to ask for such 'chop carrot head' price when you, as the employer, can apply for these work passes on your own, by your company staff. Yes, you can DIY.
