Hi
Personally I would go for ACCA, but that could be me being biased.
Persumably you don't have an accounting degree, so the best approach is to take a part-time or distance learning degree in the subject, and apply for exemptions upon graduation. I personally think this is the most effective way in approaching it, which gives you 2 qualifications within similar time frame. Do some research online and find the course that gives you the most exemptions.
One final point, ACCA is not as widely recognised in the world as one hopes. There are lots of other accounting bodies which can give you a better competitive advantage (due to mutual recognition) in long term, such as the Australian CPA. This may or may not be relevant depending on how (which sector) and where you want to progress with you career.
Hope this helps.
