Can anyone give me the strait story? I am American, My wife and both our childern are Singaporean, I worked in singapore for just over 3 years 2006 - 09, my FIN was under the Ministry of Defense. I then went to Afghanistan and Bahrain until early this year. Anticpating my return and wanting to stay and work in Singapore my wife applied PR for me last year but it was rejected. My salary has been 80K+ a year for the last 10 years..
My wife and our 2 children are Singapore Citizen but because I can not get PR my employment oppertunities are very limited. Letting a compay apply and hold employment pass doesn't appeal to me.
Any advice?
First things first the local chinese here belive they are the center of the world and the most importance race in the world. Hence they do not like any one else coming to Sinkapore like their forefathers did. So don't expect a warm welcome from the forum.
From friends I have learned that there is a quaota for every country which starts in April(?) and when that is finished the applications are rejected automatically. I hope you get what you look for with a bit of persistance. It's not a bad idea to be on employment pass meanwhile.
All the best.
Anyway, welcome to the forum.

My is name is summer hill
Soon, you will know the "people" here

Biohawk don,t simply assume, this is not China!no sweeping assumptions!this is govt policy,so it,s best to ask the politicians maybe the MP,s?
i think u need to like earn that $$$$$ in singapore to have any weight.and be taxed in spore too .
it doesnt revolve much on much race issue.but on the whole there was one american who married a sporean girl in the past...he had a PR but no worthy job in spore.he was Navy.think he is about to give up on spore despite having a PR but no job in spore.
Becoming PR sounds OK. If you are thinking of becoming a citizen later then I would say think million times about it. Citizens are treated not as first class citizens in Singapore
