is the degree Awarded by The University of Newcastle, Australia in PSB electrical engineering recognised in singapore ?
was planning to take the foundation diploma ( 1 year ) and then head to degree ( 3 year ) , total ( 4 year )
after my O lvl this year.
great ! thanks.
the degree was accredited by " Engineers Australia " and it meets the qualification for the PE exams. =]
I dunno about specific course, but PSB, as a whole, appears to be quite recognised.
The question you should ask is if it is accredited by the PEB of Singapore. Because if you wish to take up a job in the public sector in singapore, it needs to be recognised by the PEB of Singapore.
PEB of singapore will only allow you to take PE exams here, if your degree is recognised by them.
Back in my time, those engineering courses under PSB, awarded by those australian unis were not recognised in singapore, so you could get the degree but not get into govt jobs. I dunno about now, you could check by going to PEB singapore website and check accredited unis.

From my knowledge(correct me if i am wrong), the government sectors do not promote meritocracy.
a low performer scholar VS a star performer average uni grad; the scholar would be favoured.
If TS wants to work in gov sector, i strongly suggest him/her to do well for Os, aim for top tier oversea uni(Stanford, MIT, Havard, etc.) or maybe local uni.
erm...
take a look at this web >> http://app.peb.gov.sg/Html/pe_approved.html
thats the PEB recognised degree.
and the degree from University of Newcastle, Australia electrical engineering accredited from " Engineers Australia " is listed in the PEB board.
SO , it is confirmed that it is recognised.
does that mean i can work in govt sector in the future ?
Yes.
thanks.
so erm... 1 last question..
should i go POLY to get my diploma first den go local uni / Private uni ( like psb ) for degree
or should i just straight away go PSB ?
Wah, these days you don't need a diploma to get a degree? I'll be damned.
I recommend u go poly(do well) then go local uni.
It's cheaper and more recognised.
PSB is good alternative though.
shall consider that xD..
if cant make it to local uni then i'll turn to SIT liao.
SIT is a local uni
is it ?
i thought it's foreign.
the degrees they offer there is all foreign uni degree.
