What can I do with Singing talent

Hey guys, i really enjoy singing. Been to karoake, all my friends say that I can sing really well and should audition for Singapore Idol and stuff. The problem is im quite shy to take up any of these singing competitions. I feel that i can outsing many people in my school's acapella club. But i dont have the courage. I have 2 personalities, 1 just want to be a singer, the other my modest old self that tell me not.

If you really feel you are good then go for it. Try hua ren xing kuang da dao hosted by Tao Zi. The taiwanese came sg for audition a couple of months ago. You can join the Sunsilk contest, too. They have programmes to groom the singing wannabe.
Whatever, put in your best and never be arrogant. It is better to try it out overseas as there are more opportunities out there the market is much bigger than Singapore.

Sign up for a vocal and singing class. It'll improve your technique, protect your voice and help you manage the stage fright.

People tell you you can sing well at karaoke doesn't make you a singing talent.

follow your dreams and your passion if you feel that its right for you and if you believe in your talents....
take your dreams and aspirations overseas... SG does not have the right environment, culture and music industry to support your dreams... in other words you cant make a living out of your passion and dreams which in the long term will leave you frustrated
take the plunge and go abroad to pursue your dreams....

Im scared! But, right now im doing training as air steward. Would love to travel and perform at small clubs. Still scared, nervous!!!! I really can sing one@ ditzy.
At the same time i like to be modest. Last time i went to sing at karoake, all my friends refused to sing cause they wanted to hear me. ( not being arrogant, being modest )
My genre is like one republic, ronan keating, josh groban that type.
I used to train my voice solely. Heard that vocal lessons r EX!

Singing can be a part time thing for you while you excel in other things
Problem is breaking out from the shyness. Since you like to and comfortable singing in the Karaoke, just use the power of your mind and put yourself in a karaoke environment when you sing for an audience or an audition/competition.
