what camera to buy

  I wanna buy a camera.. Something like the design of PowerShot SX40 canon/ EOS 1100D Kit (EF S18-55 IS II).

  Not those normal camera . Like those camera lens can extend out one.  hehe

  Hm.. below $1k.

  Any intro? I dont know what spects to look out for.

  judging from your post probably design outlook and cost weight more over performance or what the shooter really wants technically out of a camera. i will suggest the PS SX40 canon at about S$699/- and under as at the date and time of my reply. note it runs on proprietory battery so you may want to get a spare one. unlike AA proprietory batterys may run out of production anytime so if battery is not longer avaialble after your exsting one degrades overtime, the whole cam may be rendered useless.

  although between your 2 suggested model the latter performs better, i will suggest buying cams from the lower levels and up. one day you may take photogprahy more seriously, or may just take it up as a hobby only so no point investing too much for the start.
