XP pro help

  whenever i log on as my user, my settings all get loaded by i only can see the wallpaper but the windows taskbar is no where to be seen. pressing the windows key doesnt do jack sh[/i]it either... the only way to log out is by ctrl>alt> del
  
  i cant remembers my admin password either..
  
  so now i have to log on as guest... but its not the same
  
  any one?

  I think there's a way to reset all password or remove password. It is to remove the battery from your motherboard. Not sure how to fix your problem though. Can try HWZ.

  it's a notebook la...

  of course e guest acc is diff cus u didn customise it and i assume it has a default customisation.
  
  format ur com with a bootable win xp installer, but b4 dat use command prompt to shift all ur files to other drives ...

  when u press Ctrl>alt>del. does the Task bar pop up?
  if yes check under Processes weather explorer.exe there.
  if not go to File>New Task(Run...)> C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe
  See if it works...
  
  worst come to worst just put in the WINXP CD...set ur boot sequence to CD.. and do the repair there.

  explorer doesnt work.....
  
  it didnt come with a windows cd.. and even if it did it's in singapore and i'm not there now..
  
  i tried msconfig but nothin seems to be working

  i could icq my entire winxp thingy to u, provided you're using a compaq laptop, coz it's configured for my laptop, i think

  further more i'm using 56 ghey so it will take 293043093 years for it to be done...

  i can run anything or do anything...
  
  trillian can start cuz it goes to the task bar immediately upon start up ...
  
  explorer doesnt come up...
  
  its under warrenty but i can do jack cuz i'm not in spore..

  can u boot into Savemode?
  hit F8 before the Windows start loading when u restart.
  then try to close those useless startup programs in ur taskbar

  i can run under safe mode through msconfig
  
  i cant close any useless programs cuz there isnt...
  
  i didnt install anything new today and am very careful when downloading stuff.. .
  
  what should i do when i'm running under safe mode..
  
  this is stressing me out ... add to the fact that the house i'm staying in smells of the wood protector thingy.. it's making me go crayz... arghhhhh

  why not just try all the passwords you know?
  
  maybe it's just case sensitive?
  
  maybe your password is a typo of your usual passwords?
  
  the next best solution really is to just format

  Xp, not recommand to used if u buy pirated one! coz in US, XP is use to catch piratcy.
  
  If u use original one, u will notice that theer is colour different on the START task bar... original will haf a colour, pirited will haf another same colour, but lighter! this is the trick!
  
  When u buy the original, it is only half version only! u still need to update online to get the fulll original one.. and the password only can used once only! once outside u get the priated one, always half version, u cannot upgrade to full version.. this is ther trick on why ur XP does not work well!

  Msconfig has been removed frm XP as many admin tools.

  nope msconfig works.. and i sort of solved it already.
  
  i've found out that only the users with full access are affected so i changed my access( i found my password for admin) so i'm using limited and it's fine now.
  
  i'm going to call ms later and ask them ...
  
  oh and just do it.. 10 marks to jumping to conclusions

  u can get a help disk from ms. i think it will reset the password.
