Does someone ever heard of dao yin shu?
An ancient “guidance art” that is practiced by disciples of a spiritual Taoism school, that consists of:
1. Tai Shang Shen Gong (Taoism divine exercise)
2. Xian Tian Qi Gong (Inner Power / Breathing exercise)

I had done my homework, and found some information regarding dao yin shu on the net.
Daoyin 導引 (a.k.a. Tao Yin), which literally means “guiding and stretching,” is a traditional Chinese form of “calisthenics” (Grk.: “beautiful strength”; physical exercise) or “gymnastics” (Grk.: “to train”).
The earliest forms of Daoyin were developed during the Early Han dynasty (206 BCE-8 CE), in the context of health and longevity as well as therapeutic movements. Daoyin practice is also sometimes referred to as Yangsheng 養生, which literally means “nourishing life.”
Dating to around 168 BCE, the Daoyin tu was discovered in the burial materials of Mawangdui é¦¬çŽ‹å † (near Changsha; Hunan).
I had ask for clarification about my founding on the net to [email protected]:
They are aware that there are some information regarding dao yin shu on the net, and those information are not wrong. However, the information that I had found on the net are only about the "derived" dao yin shu that had been passed down since the ancient time by the taoist master. And the movements quite similar to tai ji quan.
However the dao yin shu that is introduced by them (xiao yao pai), is what was learnt by the taoist master in the past, and it was only pass down by the taoist master to his/her disciple (which is only one or two person).
This dao yin shu is not only about physical exercise, but also personal cultivation, and more.
what people teach its still up to the students, and teachers, religious leaders can just twist and turn stuff arounf, studentas can used what they learn for evil deeds, countries and nationalities can also use it to up their own goals and objectives. like me satanism for the good ![]()
yes, i agree with you.
whatever the teacher teach, it's up to the student on how he want to explore and implement it.
it is also a fact that some religious leader (in any religion and in any culture/country) brainwashed the follower and teach evil deeds.
and it is also a reality that there are still a lot of violance and harm in the society even though there are a lot of religion established in this world.
but i still believe that there are more good people than bad people in this world, and in the end goodness will still prevail.
it is also our choice, to decide what kind of person we want to be. and it is also natural that people yearning for something spritual.
I was suprised when i read some explanation in the xiaoyao.pai's wall:
"Taoism doesn’t base on faith but base on human nature will to reveal the secret of life for get survive and happiness
Taoism has no dogma and forbid, we must aware and responsible to our own life.
There is no dogma that should be followed but Taoist improve ‘ WU’ as a compass in everyday life.
‘WU’ can be translated as:
A thinking way that consists of common sense and heart of heart to makes the best decision depend on the situation, condition, manner and custom.
I do follow aspects of philosophical taoism, as what Lao Tzo said. I don't care much for the part where it is mixed with ancient chinese religions and has alot of dieties.
I my self feel quite confused when come to taoism religion with a lot of their deities, rituals, and offering.
Taoism Form
Taoism has many forms, sometime it confused people who want to learn it.
But in general Taoism can be divide as:
1. Taoism Philosophy
This is a group of people who learn Taoism from Tao Tek Cing.
They use Tao Tek Cing as philosophical way of life.
It is very common side of Taoism that has been spread into the West.
May be it is because there is no concept of worship, rituals and dogma inside Tao Tek Cing.
Because of that, any peoples be able to learn it whatever their religion.
Taoist doesn't make this group.
This group created because of people who learn Tao Tek Cing without affiliate with any Taoism school.
In learning philosophy, we must be carefull to avoid been entrapped inside intellectual perception.
May be we can understand that there are many type of sugar, even we know the chemical form of sugar, we also know that sugar is sweet. But it is different if comparing that knowledge with the taste that we feel when we eat sugar directly.
The taste of sugar could not been transferred just by the word.
That is why in Tao Tek Cing / Dao De Jing, Lao Tse wrote: "TAO that been explained is not TAO."
In other word: Sugar that been explained is not Sugar.
2. Taoism Religion
This religion followed by Chinese and usually called as Folk Religion.
This group arrange by adherent and not disciple groups.
(Please read topic: Religion & Spiritual)
Because of that, the concept sometime deviates from basic Taoism that base on logical thinking way.
Sometime this group entrapped on worship and superstitious thing because their concept base on faith!
It is because of their limitation knowledge of Taoism.
But there are some peoples who look Taoism from this group!
3. Taoism Spiritual
It is the nucleus of Taoism.
All of Taoist master practicing spiritual exercises to improve their value in every aspect of life that can be divide as:
3.1. Physical body
The target is healthy and long life.
Increasing vitality and spirit of life by many exercise and doing healthy habit in every day life.
3.2. Mental body & soul / consciousness / awareness / mind
The target is become wise man, not just good man.
Sometime Taoist reveals their wisdom in a book and today we know it as Taoism scripture. People learn it without join in spiritual Taoism school.
It is the roof of Taoism Philosophy and Taoism Religion.
In general our consciousness consist of
a. Logical thinking way, ratio and intelligence
b. Heart of heart, emotion and feeling
Both of side is been progress, the final goal is enlightenment.
3.3. Energy / Spirit
This is the mysterious side of human life.
This is ‘something’ that still exists after our physical body death.
Taoist has certain practice that makes us enable to reveal this secret.
What happen after our physical death?
What is the condition and situation that we must pass by?
Taoist practices certain meditation method as preparation to face any possibility in afterlife.
May be it sound very weird but we must be train until be able to understand the condition of other dimension when we still life.
By using this capability, we can prepare to face it better.
The simple terminology that use in this scope is immortality.quoted fromhttp://www.facebook.com/xiaoyao.pai
The grammar gave me cancer
Haha, most likely the writer doesn't use english in daily life.
