Hi, I'll be going for the OBS camp (Marine Mobile) soon and I'd like to ask for some tips :)
What kind of long sleeved shirts do I bring? I'm female btw. And what kind of bag to bring? Camping bag or what?
cotton shirts preferred. not so warm yet can absorb sweat.
marine mobile mean u will kayak to other side of the island and set up camp
camping bag would be good (like deuter)
or those big gym bags
rber to bring disposable undies, toilet paper.

My suggestion:
Bring a small bag that you can carry anywhere u go (i.e. when you leave base camp for expeditions). Yes you will be carrying a very big camping bag issued to you but that one usually is to carry GROUP stuff such as food and messtins etc.
The small bag can put
-Small face towel (can use for washup and piillow)
-Torchlight
-Small water bottle(Emergency although they will let you carry 2kg jerry cans)
-Sanitary Pads
-Powder ( Preferably prickle heat )
Okay the reason for the face towel is stated already but during my OBS, we setup the tents at a very rough tree area. the ground is super uneven and full of rocks and near red ant nests.. So It can act as a head pillow and a blanket in the early hours cause it will be really chilli.. Morning washup can use also =D Multi-functional face towel
Good torch light (bring a spare one in your personal small bag) is because we had to pitch the tent when it was really pitch dark because we were behind schedule... IT'S REALLY SUPER DARK NO JOKE cause it was in the forest.. I walk out abit lost already LOL Don't drop the whistle they gave you.
Powder we used it and spam on the entrance of the tent to prevent/reduce red ants from invading us... really painful cause I slept beside the entrance..
Hope this helps! Remember have fun but SAFETY FIRST!
i went there once.....waD A WASTE OF MY TIME~~~!!!!!
FEELS LIKE I JUST ENTERED THE SCHOOL OF THE MUSCLEHEADS AND THOSE WITH NO PURPOSE IN LIFE.
THINK I SHOULD HAVE JUST WENT TO FRONT AND TOLD THEM THAT I WORKED IN HIGHLY ADVANCED ENVIROMENTS IN THE PAST EQUIVALENT TO NASA AND THOSE PARTICLE ACCELRATOR IN CERNE, AND THEN SUDDENLY I COME ACROSS THIS DUMB ASS SCHOOL WITH OBSOLETE METHOD.WAS A WASTE OF MY 5 DAYS THERE.
WHEN IT WAS OVER...I DIDNT EVEN REMEBER HOW I GOT BACK TO SPORE EVEN!
For any camp, the most important is your water bottle! You need to hydrate as much as you can... If you are prone to insect bites, remember to have either insect repellent or medicine to lessen the swollen bites. :) Take care and enjoy yourself! It's a great experience..
i been
for 1 week
i enjoyed myself so much, i din wanna come back
so im now living in ubin ![]()
Bring White long sleeve shirt to reflect heat so it can cover your arms from sunburn. Make sure its tight.
Sun Block is a MUST!!!!
Cap to shield your face from sun.
Mosquito coil/ repellent.
Torchlight.
Blanket or a cloth/towel cause it will be cold at night. Also good to wrap yourself in to prevent bties from insects...Alternatively you can buy those hot rubber bottle that stores hot water so you can boil water at night then put on your tummy for heat.
Some canned food that only require heating or can be eaten cold (i.e cock tail sasuage) incase you want some supper at night. Great for bonding also
food will be supplied.
Ooh Ooh, I was in OBS. Very tough.
I learn how to sail on a whailer boat all the way to a paradise island (near Pangkor), camped there for 3 nights.
what's this? is it like some kindof orgy or what?
