Thanks for all the advice. My wife is still adapting. A lot of Indians and Phillipine ppl in the area where I'm living so I can't understand a word they are saying. Maybe I need to learn Indian?? Nevertheless, nobody understand cantonese, mostly mandarin, even my new boss.
I rode the singaporean mrt today and wait for about 10 minute until the train came. Is there reduced service on specific days??
In HK MTR, the trains come in 2-3 intervals...
Thanks for all your input.

For a start your wife can go down to Kreta Ayer market where most of the vendors still speak Cantonese. That use to be the Cantonese quarters until the 1980s when youngsters no longer speaks dialects as a result of the ban on dialects in schools and media.

"Indian" is not a language dude. Just use English.
Haha, i am surprised the term "虫" is mentioned by S'porean! Btw I am from HK who occassionally visit SG forum.
Sometimes I think what the difference? Most sporeans are chinese descent from south..we will fit right in to HK society compared to other ethnic minorities..both are commercial cities and have casinos...
Btw HK ppl come here and us go there....it a global village after all
