Singaporeans losing out to FT: up to private sector

These FTs are like 60% as good as singaporeans, but since they are willing to work for <40% of the pay, they are always hired by foreign companies based here, government owned companies and government sector.
So I was thinking that the only way to stop this is for businesses owned by Singaporeans to exclusively employ our fellow singaporeans. We can't count on the government to change for the better. Most politicians are incapable of improvement, and that's axiomatic. -
you just wait long long arh. those very small businesses like only need one of two workers, they also wanna count every month the few hundreds of dollars they can save hiring cheap forign labor. after all those few hundreds of dollars they can pay for thei car instalment, all teh 'C's that gahemn instill into our people and set example by getting miilions in pay. so the local bossess also do the same. somemore the flats they can rent out and use the rent from foreign cheap labor to pay monthly sintalment, then sell the flat when price is good for profits.
to turn the whole situation around is now not so simple. one thing we can do to have some psychological effect is to start with GE2016 getting them out as many of them as spossible. the fstop 2 2fstop- stopp at 2 policy has already done the damage to our country!

Yeah I agree with the top. Most small businesses's bosses nowadays think their main duty is to get as much into their own pockets, even though their biggest responsibility is to their employees. This is why Singapore's entrepreneurs are so weak.

If you are a business owner, your profit is your bottom line.
If there are cheaper options around, you will use them.
It is as simple as that.
Singaporean men have become a liability with their NS liability and their high pay.
It is always a losing race to fight against cheap labour.
The cheap labour factor will turn against us when the neighbouring countries start doing the same business.
You can say it is short sightedness of the policy maker.
But, when you see what are being appointed in the house, they are all followers and not some one who can create solution.

Like I said before just because of one person the whole country suffer. Up to Goh Chok Tong's time we still did not have so excessive number of foreigners ( workers , low grade) in our land. Sigh!, since that "prince" took over situation changed , 180 or 360 degree change to suit his needs and desires. Selfish!
Think he is the problem. Let's get rid of the problem.
PRCs in Singapore know Singapore is going downhill and agree that importing large number of low grade foreigners does not help to contribute to the good future of Singapore. Ai, even foreigners can see the problem!

True that. GCT was quite straight forward, and un-snake-like. I remember him saying stuff like how people can come here to work under good infrastructure, and add to our economy in return. Then when they are retired, they can fark off to their homelands instead of staying here and messing up our socio-economic balance.
But that was Goh's time. Then our Mai Hum came and changed it to make them stay here as citizens. Kena sai rdy.

come on, he probably only hear about hum and meesiam from people. don;t tell me if in your life you even even once 1 plate of mee siam and once 1 plate of char kway teow you will know the hump belongs in the char keay teow and not in the mee siam/

Let's be realistic and practical. Singaporeans are not Japanese, Community and national pride does not take first place. Everyone from top to bottom are commercial minded and profit centred and short term thinking!. For your suggestion to work , Singaporeans must together have very strong community spirit and national pride, and a willingness to sacrifice short term gains for longer term benefit of the nation and community. You can't expect employees to work harder and feel a sense of loyalty to the Singaporean employer and pride in being employed by Sinapore employer/company etc if they are treated like dirt and paid substandardly even if the company can afford to do better. The attitude and culture of employers are mostly only profit motivated...so the work ethics of the Singaporean employees these days is " don't do more than necessary . There is no sense of loyalty or pride in working for a Singaporean or a Singapore owned company, unless you are paid your money's worth! Inany organisation, everything begins at the very top. If even leaders of society feel they must always be paid their Shylock's worth, where is national pride? Don't expect the poor cleaner in the food court or the toilet cleaner to lead by example instead...

Of course the government must lead ....not merely follow or else how to justify the amounts they are paid to lead? But not only must a government lead effectively, take credit where it is due. BUT more importantly , it must also be accountable for mistakes made and be able to take responsibility too. Now that is the difficult part isn't it? -
Whether the team is doing his job, it is evident with the strings of events throughout the years.
Whether they are accountable for the losses and misses, it is also evident.
Whether he failed or not, it is definitely evident.
The key thing is whether he can see it himself NOW.

i don;t see what he do. the growth due to opening of the casinos is for show only. now casino is like reading newspaper nothing new. and creating lots of problem to our families by introducing gambling addicts. see so manyproblem soone can drink form the golden cup. as if the batard mess for cheap foreign labor in sg is not enbough for conjection and a silly nonsenscail reason to build more flats? i thionght our core sg population is down with low birth rates?
