Former justice ministry offical hidenori has urged japan to be a nation of immigrants in order to remake herself...and like meiji restoration.....so what you guys think...will Japan welcome and accept more immigrants worldwide,,,,
Who knows maybe our kids may end up migrating there >?If SG smaller than HK can take in so many people I don't doubt japan ....once the yamato people is willing...they can be the best migrant nation

nothing worng with that. but they have the manage the numebrs right. monority of westerners and other asian culture can make japan transform inot a richer country with richer culture. although they are somehow modernized and westernize in some areaa, they woking ethics are still somewhat very 'japan'. no doubt their core culture, people and teachings are good in certain ways, they have to forgo their bad and stubborn ones.
but theyr have to manage the influx numbers with care , zero on the ground. see what happen to spore with our people boh chap management on the floor. now its an alien infestation!

I think Japan make the right move to adopt western standards right from the start together with their culture...look around asia even south korea follow that model

I feel japan nightlife more stylish and classy ...unlike sg thinking money can buy everything..it lacks the vibes of the locals and depends to much on foreigners....

i am sure japan should know what typoe oif immigrants will do they well. if SK dont have the NK problem, i believe the whole US and eastern ocean nationas will stand a chance as a holw against the inreasing and possibl cheenaland threats should they change their national and foreign poklicies. together with taiwan, philipines, cambodia vietnam, thailand malaysia, we can hold back the south cheena sea lines which is crucial to our trades and routine lifestyle.

Even FT from china want to move to japan, I'm talking top university grads ..somehow they realise that japan is the better man despite all her flaws ..I see more smart and rich asians moving there too after they realise America and other western nations racism towards colored people

frankly, this "shrinking population" is a natural thing.. when a nation becomes developed, the population will plateau and then shrink to a new equilibrium..
every scientist will tell you that the world is overpopulated while every politician will tell you that the country needs more people...
who would you believe? the scientist who bases his recommendations on fact or the politician whose main tool for "diplomacy" is deception?

to save japan, its not about their immigrants. while i do encounrage some immigrants (japan has them), using this as a one size fits all solution is not good either. nope immigrants cannot help japan. there are otehr thing sthey can look into to save themselves. too sky high standard or living etc.
dont be like spore - now going 7 million - because no solution. we need to have more opposition voted into parliament, people who can at least speak up for sgreans. we also need more oppositions winning JRCs and SMCs. like that they got chance to build up their own experiences to run constituencies and speak better in parliament.
only one year howlian expect WP good results? dont be like tham decades already still sama sama, worse take over from GCT only the population very fast go up - and the casino help to push up the report card grades - and worse the poopulation is fake 1.

I don't think it'll happen.
The major reason for increased immigration is purely economic. Japan has a declining work force and has the most govt debt per person in the world. (The US has more govt debt outstanding, but a larger population, so lower per person average)
The only way for Japan to pay back this debt is through collecting tax revenues hence increasing the size of the economy and the amount of workers. (Bear in mind Japan's economy has not grown in 20 years despite zero and negative interest rates at times)
But just culturally, Japan is a nation that doesn't like immigration. A lot of Japanese people moved to South America after world war 2. (The former leader of Peru for example, Alberto Fujimori was ethnic Japanese origin) Anyway, descendants of these Japanese immigrants were offered jobs in Japan as guest workers...mostly working in factories and other "blue collar jobs" lets say. In 2009...the Japanese paid these people money to go home and give up the right to work in Japan again.

So I think if the Japanese cannot even open up their country to people who are Japanese descendants...and can establish direct links to the country...I can't culturally see them being accepting of large scale foreign immigration.
Who knows they might get more desparate in the future...but these kind of attitudes are ingrained and I think take generations to change. And by that time it might be too late.
There are several big Hedge Funds worldwide who are convinced this will be the case...and are betting that the Japanese govt will default on it's govt debt....which would be a major economic shock worlwide.

The problem is with the japanese women like sg women refuse to get hitched and have few babies like our grandparents..so no replacement and aging sets in..they don't like immigration and decide to use Artificial intelligent machines..but can they replace human beings?
Modern japanese women no longer oshin types that toil and sacrifice for their families and make japan a superpower, sad to say
