In some point of views, speaking Singlish is bad as some Singaporeans get used to it and as a result, use it at wrong times. And in others, it is good as it gives us our national identity and the older generation can understand better.
So, I was wondering if more people find it good or bad. Help me replying and also state why you think so. And if you do speak it, state why you do or who influenced you to.
By the way, I do not speak Singlish and I am a Singaporean.

Singaporean English is good, Singlish is bad. Singlish is basically English with Mandarin grammer. And a few made up words.

Embarassing to those Singaporeans who can actually speak English.
I am P5 (GEP) and doing an IRS Project on Singlish. Your replies would help me greatly.
Speaking singlish with local people is perfectly fine. But, when speaking with tourists, singlish is just unable to get the conversation going on. And of course, doing assignments or writing formal letters demand proper english.
