  Hello Members,

                                 It depends upon individual to individual. If I am local , then I prefer my own car, but if I am in another city , then I prefer metro or cab.

  used to much prefer public transport as i've been brought up on it and because it's cost effective but the train breakdowns in recent years have really been putting me off. Cost of COE and all the miscellaneous fees of owning a car (parking fees, petrol, maintenance etc) are still very steep...

  its definitely not feasible now to buy a car today. even if you got like $100k cash. its still not feasible. A small car now is $100k plus. you can 40% downpayment is $40k -$50k.

  and the monthly installment is now higher than what it used to be. If your income is below $3k. It's tough.

  
  take mrt and don't complain. singapore is very small. count yourself lucky that public transport can take you from 1 place to another place pretty quickly.

  it should be so! Public transport must be fast and efficent, or that PAP would be voted out a long time ago.
