Can I use Medisave for my consultation fees and treatment?
No. Only certain surgical procedures can be paid by Medisave.
Can I use my CSC card to pay the walk-in fees and appointment deposit?
No, walk-in fees and appointment deposits cannot be charged to the CSC card.
How much do I pay on my first visit?
Consultation fees varies according to the seniority of the doctor your are consulting. Please refer to Consultation Fees for charges. (Medication, Treatment and Investigation charges are subject to change without prior notice).
I am an NSman, and would like to consult a dermatologist for my skin condition. May I know if my 11B entitles me to free consultations/treatments at NSC?
If you are referred to NSC by an SAF medical officer or from a polyclinic and you have a valid 11B, you will be seen at our subsidized clinic. Your consultation, treatment and medication fees will be billed to and paid by SAF if you are diagnosed with a medical condition. Cosmetic conditions will not be paid by the SAF. You will need to pay cash upfront for any non-medical consultation, treatments and medication. You should check with your NS unit/department on what you are entitled to.
If you visit a dermatologist at our non-subsidized clinics, your first consultation fee will be billed to SAF, who will then deduct this amount from your NS salary. Subsequent follow up consultations may or may not be paid by SAF; this is dependent on the type of condition that you are being treated for. You will need to pay cash upfront for any non-medical consultation, treatments and medication. Please check with your NS unit/department on what you are entitled to.
If I have a CSC card, can the bill be charged to the card?
Consultation, treatment, and medication charges can be charged to your valid CSC card as long as the treatment is non-cosmetic in nature.
What payment modes do you accept other than cash?
We accept Visa, Masters , NETs . We do not accept personal cheques.
Government Subsidy
How can I receive subsidized treatment at NSC?
To qualify for this government's subsidy, you must be a Singaporean or Permanent Resident of Singapore referred to NSC by doctors from subsidized clinics of a restructured hospital or polyclinic, or from an SAF medical officer/camp. Patients will be seen by a doctor on duty the day of their appointment with NSC.
I am a Singaporean. Am I automatically granted a subsidy or do I still need to be referred by a polyclinic or government hospital?
To qualify for the government's subsidy, you must be a Singaporean or Resident of Singapore referred to the Centre by doctors from subsidised clinics of a restructured hospital or polyclinic, or from an SAF medical officer/camp. Patients have no choice of their preferred doctor and will be seen by a doctor on duty on the day of their appointment with NSC.
I have been referred to NSC by a polyclinic referral. Why am I still considered a non-subsidized patient even though I have a valid referral letter?
Generally, patients with referral letters from polyclinics are seen at our subsidized clinics. However, if your diagnosis is non-medical in nature (e.g. skin tags, freckles, keloid scars, etc), you will not be entitled to subsidised treatment even if you have a valid polyclinic/hospital referral letter. The government subsidy is only meant for basic healthcare.
If I want to consult a dermatologist regarding my acne problem, can I do so through a referral from a polyclinic?
Your doctor may refer you to NSC depending on the severity of your condition.
If my last visit to NSC was more than a year ago, do I still qualify for subsidized follow-up consultations or do I need to get a referral letter from the polyclinic?
No, patients are considered to be discharged if their last consultation at NSC was more than one year ago.
Is your hospital a Government or Private hospital?
The National Skin Centre (NSC) is a government restructured institution and a subsidiary of the National Healthcare Group (NHG). We are an outpatient specialist dermatological centre with a team of dermatologists who have experience and expertise in treating skin conditions.
I wish to undergo certain procedure(s) at NSC but have some financial difficulties. Is there an option to pay by installment?
You may highlight your request for financial assistance to our counter or appointments staff while you are arranging for a consultation. They will then direct you to our Medical Social Worker for financial advice and/or counselling.
