anybody have concerns about having children? wat would u do if they r good for nothing like lazing around, not finding a perm job or just so f up that they think of just leeching on u waiting for u to die so as to inherit ur fortune... wat will u do if ur child turn out like this in the future? will u kik them out of ur house? r u going the western way? bring them up till they graduate n stop supporting them, expect them to get a hse on their own? will u still expect them to provide u with some cash when u retire? I m 28 n married... probably 5 yrs later then have a child...all these thoughts just float in suddenly.... may u can share ur thoughts or experiences n maybe can state ur age to better understand ur situation.

Singapore is too expensive to have kids.
Nobody in the USA moves to New York to start a family.

Advantage : When you passed away, the young one will have to take care of your "final" destination.
Disadvantage : You have to take care of them like your children until they become adult and when they want to buy housing, the first one they will look for you.

seen many bastards throw they parents to nursing home without visiting... some even used the chance to sell the flat ... seen siblings fight over parents money.... cant help but worried...

I used to be the one against having children. However as time pass by, i felt emptiness which can't be filled with anything: good food, good toys, good sex, etc.
Then last year, my wife gave birth to a young and handsome baby. Now, no regret at all.
So my 2 cent, just go ahead and having one. You will not regret it.

My tolerance level for them is pretty low, so not sure next time i'll wanna have kids not :P

just do it lar, or gov hv more excuses to import FT..and ultimately it is FT who inherits your money, the sucessor, your own kid but you dislike or a FT? your call!

i am sure i can teach my chidlren the right things. but its the people who will surround and affect my children that i fear.

cannot provide enough for chewren, also cannot lead them on the right path, samam samma as your state, the cycle continues....so cannot help lor whose fault?

can teach is 1 thing. the nature of the child is another thing. plus external influence also. its a rather complicated society to grow up in nowadays. i think its heng suay kind o thing. -

Don't worry about having off offsprings first until issues such as income inequility or increasing cost of living are settled. There are alot of factors as to why these issues are so important.
All I know is our future generation is going to suffer. It gets worst because Singapore seems to be a destination for the mega rich foreigners with high purchasing power and less tax which could only mean fill In the blanks yourself

not to fix up ur boredom problem, or any other thing, shouldn't be using kids for our selfish purpose, isnt it?
and as far as bothering about if they r gonna be right or gonna treat u right, u never know as long as u have them, right? they may turn out be really nice kids as u may be to ur parents..(i sincerely believe i am correct, hehe)
