Hello Everyone,
Playmobil has been around a long time now but its presence in Asia is really limited. Recent years has seen some growth in our region but still the market is very very niche.
I have always been a fan as a kid but there was never any budget for such premium toys in my Family then.
Although I grew up with LEGO mostly, I prefer Playmobil because of their asthetic appeal in front of my iPhone camera.
While all my Friends are busy LEGOing, I have gone out and made alot of new ones but I realise very few are from our little red dot.
However, through a FB page I created, I have uncovered some new Friends locally who share my passion for these little plastic figurines. I sincerely hope I can uncover more using this forum so that we may share information to hunt down the Playmobil we want, need or absolutely must have!
Here is one from my Playmobil photography and this one is called:
Elvis is in the Building

I am totally with you on the local retail pricing. Some are just ridiculous!
The range fans out from Germany as the epi-centre to the rest of the World which means we are actually buying products from a year ago.
For me. I go through a Playmobil Friend in Germany.
Storywolf, it sounds like you travel to Europe quite a bit don't you?

yes & no - i used to travel a lot to scotland, as my boss yes there - not german, the shopping center & shops there do not have much playmobil, only at the amsterdam airport they have a toyshop that sell some playmobil but usually those are the stuff that you not want.
I usually buy via internet ... but as my collection grows and space run out ... I kind of cannot go for sets anymore - I can only go for individual loose pieces. Actually in germany playmobil - they have a spare part dept - which you can order loose stuff , i have an account , but really troublesome to do it - as need bankdraft and stuff
I see, are you referring to the Add-ons? I am able to order those through my German Friend too if you are interested. I order, he ships, I paypal. Its quite convenient but shipping is a KILLA...
Google "Playmo Hohoho" its the name of the FB page. Under the "Photos" you'll see a "Add-on" album. Most of them are there but if you are looking for something specific, like Red Indians, you have to look under the "Western" album.
I use to buy quite abit myself but now, I only collect the Specials. Smaller boxes, much more managable but I'm missing quite alot of the old ones...
Here are some of them:

Hi Storywolf,
I started that FB page Dude. Haha!
There are no additional charges on top of the price if you are residing in Singapore. Shipping from Germany already included.
Yeah I heard of the spare parts department but the plastic Playmobil uses are really durable and does not break easily. Also, like you said, the cost may come up to buying a new figure or set with similar parts for replacement.
You know how to dismantle your Playmobil figurines right?
If Adventure has a name...

By the way, isn't there a toy collector topic around here? How do I start one? Its insane to have sooooo many empty topics on the main board...
Or is there anyway where Collectors congregate?
Dismantling is a very slippery slope really. I collected them for so long and only got to know of their dismantling this year and I never ever stopped... Hahaha!
But it is because of that I started customising them into characters I like.
Homemade Ninja

Its a brown pistol holster and belt that was forced under the brown jacket. I coloured the belt part black.
Only after customising these Playmobil, I realised that the plastic they use is really easy to work with.
Actually, I am in the Taiwan Playmobil FB page. The one you spoke of is... Forum?
