Just a topic of curiosity as I have a friend who have been filmed secretly by his neighbour's cctv.
The neighbour filmed a group of youth smoking ona shared corridpr which by law, was prohibited by the time.
He had posted the video and screenshots of it on a local website to raise awareness and at the same time, shame them in a way.
However, there were innocent parties in the video which did not deserve to be shamed.
The person's face was also not censored.
Is this illegal?
see, the legal thingy again.
again uh? this is my first post le?
who would want 'secret eyes' looking at you everyday when you leave home.
you mean to say....you don't mind? LOL.
no do 心事 u scared wat
and it is not in your hse.
If what your neighbour did was illegal, then so is www.stomp.com.sg. Please shut that place down before you take your neighbour thru legal battles.
so if they film for their pleasure le? you never know if they take your pic then gonchang (or mast). if that happens you not uneasy ma?
and for a fact, i care for friends unlike you. close family friends.
they 're not as cheap to to keep allowing such things to happen to them.
unlike certain people.
and I am only asking a question out of curiousity, not like I am going to the courts k bro.
you got nothing to say just stay away lo.
ditzy : stomp ususally censor. especially minors.
they HAVE uploaded pictures of minors and unrelated people without censoring but once complaints were made, they took down the specific articles.
to save on legal cost maybe?

I think what moderator mean is there is an similar thread which is related to your problem, you can read more about it here : http://sgforums.com/forums/12/topics/466674
Your friend needs to talk to his neighbour if he feels uncomfortable about being filmed secretly by that cctv placed outside his corridor.
If you ask me, i don't think it's illegal because it is a means of security by deterent.
I had thought of doing the same before, because kids apparently like to come to my floor or upstairs to the 18th, and make out by the rubbish chute, in full view of the living room window, why they do it I cannot comprehend.
But if you ask me, STOMP has to go.
thanks for the link. I tried looking for threads like that but to no avail.

My friend's neighbour is the type which waves and smiles everyday and then shame them online behind their back without their permissions.
Unfortunately, he is an RC member. that is the reson why I am helping my friend seek information online before confronting them regarding the issue.
Bet there is nothing much we can do about stomp.
If I were you, I'd let it blow over because it will be forgotten in time to come, and there are more pressing things to think about.

thanks for the advice, but I really need to get the facts in order for my friend to confront his neighbour.
for some peace and privacy.
You want facts? Get an attorney.
get an MP
aye aye captain.
Household is allowed to install CCTV aiming at public corridor?
Private cars are allowed to installed dashboard cameras pointing at public roads?
