High Shippings Costs.. how to do business??

  Ive been doing some research to setup my own small business but I've found that costs to ship items from singapore to internationally is such high barrier that it costs way more than what my items costs! N since no normal person would pay more for shipping costs, that means i'm confined to local market only :( How does such entrepreneurship survive?? Does anyone know of cheap shippings rates for businesses?

  Where did you check and how expensive is your item with dimensions?

   

  Look in eBay and other sites for others charges for similar items.

  Hi Bio-hawk,

  i've checked singpost, fedex, ups, dhl. Small items are still ok and covered cheaply under singpost but some bigger items but weigh light can cost more than $20. But my item itself cost slightly less than $20.

  There are a few similar products listed on ebay, they are shipped from hongkong/china and offer free shipping! How do they do that??

  Hi FireIce,

  Freight only works for heavy/bulk shipment - or am i wrong? I don't think they would do this for a small retail business like mine :(

  those people are usaully do parallel import, order cheaper in bulk, or order items higher than certian amount then freight free.

  Learn how to organise consortium... small fries must learn to work together to play with the big boys...

  Cheap shipping...so not happening! Unless you have some kind of massive bulk arrangement (not possible for small companies)...

  Of course these companies have third party company to assist them to buy, QC and ship goods back to them. One good example is Jig Global Pte Ltd which deal like Chinese online shopping like Taobao : http://www.jig.com.sg
