Land Transport Authority-owned EZ-Link has launched an app that turns your smartphone into a mobile machine that tops up the value of your ezlink card.
Touted to be the world's first, the My EZ-Link Mobile app automates payment by charging to a user-designated MasterCard debit or credit card. Users must first enter personal and payment details into the app before they can tap their Ez-Link card on the smartphone to top up.
The app works only on smartphones that are near field communications (NFC) enabled. NFC is a wireless transmission technology that allows mobile payment.
With this, commuters need not visit ATMs or Ez-Link machines anymore. The smartphone payment option adds to existing fuss-free Giro and automatic stored-value reload options tied to the POSB ATM card and most credit cards.
not bad.....good for ppl living not near mrt station and they only take bus to work
Not working on HTC One, running Android 4.4 KitKat.
The My EZ-Link Mobile app can only be downloaded from the Google Play store and will only work with compatible NFC-enabled Android phones. iOS devices are not supported. Supported phones include:
30cts per top up
free till 31 May 2014
just downloaded to try it out
(using S4)
Not working on samsung galaxy note 2 running 4.4 kitkat.
Working on samsung galaxy note 3 running 4.3.
Not working on samsung galaxy note 3 running 4.4 kitkat.
So for those who really need to use it, don't upgrade your android phone software to 4.4 kitkat yet, until the app is updated to accept 4.4.
@ditzy : Is it working for your EzLink Adult Card on samsung note 3 running 4.3 ?
played with it today
cannot scan my card
S4/4.3
This is the reason why it will not work on the S4-LTE.
Not working on S4 This app will not work on the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 as the phone uses a BCM2079x NFC controller and Broadcom NFC Chip. It doesn’t read MIFARE Classic tags, including EZ-link compatible cards such as NETS Flash Pay. For this app to work, the only solution would be for EZ-link enabled cards to incorporate MIFARE Ultralight or NTAG203 NFC chipset or Samsung Galaxy S4 and other newer Android models such as the Nexus 4 to change to NXP Chip which is highly unlikely.
In layman terms, our ez-link cards are older tech, than at the rate android phones with NFC tech are being released.

HAIIIIIZZZZZ~~~
LTA still has not given the go ahead to implement a EZ link wallet app in our phone via NFC -___- Seriously, I'm very curious on what is stopping it.
So in the end, we got this mobile app to top up our card instead. -___-

World first top up because technology advances and allow us to use NFC, which is more commonly availiable now, to act as a reader.
However, there are already alot of countries that implement a wallet in their mobile phone to act as a travel card instead...
