My friend recommended this job portal called Glassdoor dot com.
I thought it was quite interesting cuz not only it displays the salary of some of the jobs, you can also see feedback on some of the employers, eg whether the company is good benefit, good career prospect etc.
Then I chanced upon this organisation in Singapore. A charity, called Boys' Town Singapore.
This is really interesting. Cuz while I can see excellent or at least fairly good reviews on some of the company profile that I browsed through, this organisation seemed to have quite negative feedbacks, which I believe written by former employees. Some of the feedbacks include: "Bad management" "not optimistic about the outlook for this company" etc.
I wonder if the boss of the organisation know about it or not.
Yup, glassdoor offers excellent way for people to write honestly about their company. There are praises as well of as negative comments. I find it a good way to know who I am working for.
I am still browsing other sg employers. very interesting read. many even reveal the salary range as well as the bonus.
Well, one cant expect charity organisation to have "Bright prospect" or "High pay, high flying job"... Unless u are those type expecting charity organisation to install gold taps in ur toilet in office...
Another thing is, among all the review of a company, how much of the testimonials are true? There is also the possibility of trolls and clones.
Btw, lastly, the Boy's Town Singapore, is it the same as the old Boy's Town Home where they used to house those young delinquents (spelling?) that ran into problems with the law?
Your threads just bring back the memories of NKF and CHC. I am surprised that you believe in 'charity' if you know what I mean.
My company is inside it, but only the HQ division. I would say its fairly accurate.

likely is the same Boys' Town. the one at bukit timah. website at triple w dot boystown dot oh are gee dot as gee.

hmm... even NCSS got quite ok remarks. Seems like only Boys' Town is..... xxxx? If what is said is true, then what's going to happen to the trouble young boys who are put there?
