hi all,
if i download whatsapp on my phone and i wanna add people, all i need is their mobile number?
also, does whatsapp work for those using prepaid cards?
tks!
Yes, but the people need to have whatsapp account registered to their mobile line as well, otherwise their contact won't show up on your whatsapp contact list.
It works as long as the card has mobile data to sync your mobile line to the whatsapp account you using.
tks! but i heard if u're using prepaid card, you can only use whatsapp on wi-fi networks otherwise the money will be deducted from the prepaid card instead, and that can end up being the same (or even more expensive) than sms right?
also, another thing: nowadays the smartphones (iphone, htc, and all other smartphones) can receive mms by default? they dun need to configure special settings cos' it's already set by default right?
i'm using those older-gen Nokia S40 operating system phones and need to send MMS to a friend who's using those current-gen smartphones.
If you're using a prepaid card with a low quota of mobile data available, of course its not recommended.
Nowsadays, all smartphones can dig the APN settings directly from the sim card, so MMS is configured automatically. MMS was built on the foundation using GPRS to send/receive data, so as long as the phone is connected to the internet, it can recieve MMSs.
If you're using an S40 operating system, whatsapp doesn't support that.
tks ditzy! btw, if the picture i send via mms is something like 1200 px by 1400 px, will it be shrank to the size of the receiver's handphone? can they enlarge it?
i read that pictures sent via mms always look too small even if the original picture is large.
Yes, it will be shrunk in size. Yes, can enlarge, lost in resolution quality.
tks ditzy! for the current mobile phones nowadays running those android, windows and apple iOS, if we send a normal sms (not whatsapp) with a URL to these phones, will these phones automatically convert the URL to a hyperlink, so that the receiver can just touch the link and it will open? Or will it just be seen as pure non-clickable text?
like sometimes when u make forum posts on other forums, if you post a URL link, the forum software will convert that into a clickable link.
need to send some info to my boss lol
Clickable.
