I don't really know how to speak hokkien as my parents never teach me before
I don't think it's that easy to learn instantly like this, so how about trying to ask them to speak hokkien to you? Or any other of your family members. I don't speak hokkien but I can understand it because my grandparents often use it to communicate with each other. You'll pick up on a few phrases soon enough, though it'll take a far longer time to actually master it.
I learnt to speak hokkien because my grandma took care of me since I was a kid till I was a bigger kid.
My parents only spoke to me in English, although both were fluent in hokkien, teochew, and cantonese, even though none of them were cantonese.
Thats why my mandarin sucks, so people know me as jiak kantang, or banana.
Hokkien is not that hard, but it takes quite some time to pick up. Taiwanese also speak hokkien, but theirs is more "throroughbred" like hong kong cantonese.
nobody ever taught me how to speak hokkien and contonese but i speak hokkien and cantonese
so sing karaoka hokkian song, watch 爱 in hokkian, by the time you finish the drama, you should be able to speak a bit of hokkian....
