Flappy Bird creator says popular game will fly no more
HANOI (Reuters) - The developer of Flappy Bird, currently the most popular free mobile game on the Apple App Store and Google's Android Play store, has announced that he is taking the game down at midnight on Sunday.
Mr Nguyen Ha Dong, a Hanoi-based game developer, announced the grounding of the addictive game in a Tweet at 7pm GMT on Saturday, in which he also apologised to Flappy Bird players.
"22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down," Mr Dong said, adding: "It is not anything related to legal issues."
"I cannot take this anymore," he wrote.

Whatever the reason, there are some ppl who think that this is a marketing move, akin to Disney Vault Movie tactic. Since the profit comes from ad revenue and not direct download.

Flappy Bird may rise again, creator says
WASHINGTON (AFP) - The Vietnamese creator of Flappy Bird says he is thinking of resurrecting the smash-hit free game that he abruptly took offline a month ago - albeit with a warning about its addictive qualities.
In his first interview since he pulled the app from the Apple and Android app stores, citing the pressure its success put on his "simple life", Mr Nguyen Ha Dong told Rolling Stone magazine he now feels a sense of "relief". But asked if Flappy Bird will ever fly again on mobile devices, Mr Nguyen responded: "I'm considering it".
While he is not working on a new version, he said any sequel would come with a warning to users to "please take a break". With its 2-D retro-style graphics, Flappy Bird - in which gamers try to direct a flying bird between oncoming sets of pipes without touching them - was wildly popular.
When Mr Nguyen, 28, announced on Twitter that he was about to take it down, 10 million people downloaded it in just 22 hours - and one month on, clone versions still pop up.
