  how do you know unboiled tap water safe? 

  the only way to know is to boil it ;)

  I always boil my water. Oh by the way, if you go to restaurants even those artas ones, they also serve you tap water. So normally I ask for hot boiling water then wait awhile then drink.

  What if the pipe for the water is rusty or dirty? Or there's slime in the water tank? Aren't those bacteria? I'd rather just boil it first.

  I think singapore kept the water quality good enough.
