Transfering Whatsapp messages and SMS

  I'm using Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 now, brought a new Samsung Galaxy Core recently.

  1. Is there any methods or apps which I can transfer all my SMS to the new phone? I couldnt save all the SMS in my SIM card cos it only allow me to save like 20 of them.

  2. How can i transfer all my whatsapp conversation to my new phone? Does the backup function really work? 

  Need to know urgently.

  of course just download sms backup in playstore :)

  i had failed transferring msg from android to iphone. Only found one paid apps providing this service

  For transferring of whatsapp messages:

  1) Go to your old device's whatsapp, menu > settings > chat settings > backup conversation. This will take ~2mins. After its done, ensure that the last backup date written is the point of time where you press backup. 

  2) Plug your old and new device into the computer (fastest way)

  3) On your computer, choose internal memory for your old device.

  4) Look for the whatsapp folder and copy/cut the whole folder (depending if you want to maintain a backup on your old phone or not, but you will not be able to get access to it once you login into your new phone)

  5) On your computer, choose internal memory for your new device and paste the whole whatsapp folder here. (Whatsapp will only read from internal memory, it will not work if this folder is in your SD card)

  6) Download(Or login) whatsapp on your new device.

  7) After successfully confirming that you are the account holder, whatsapp will prompt you with "Back up found, do you want to restore?" (something along this line). Choose YES. 

  8) And wah-lah, your old whatsapp messages are all on your new devices. 

  This steps also will transfer the photos sent to your old phone via whatsapp, however in the personal chat/group chat, the picture may or may not seemed to blur out due to different file path. However, you can still find these photos in your photo albums. 

  As for SMS, different brands provides with their own internal brand transfer. Since both your old and new devices are samsung's you might want to head down to any of their samsung shops to check out with their brand ambassador. Hope it helps!
