Taiwan claimed to have helped Singapore substantially 40 years ago to achieve its present day success! The video was aired in 2008 when the GST package started. Photoshop was used to save the images in JPEG but they have not been altered in any way.

whatever.The 2nd part mentioned the earliest top-ranking military officers/commanders in Sg were Taiwanese officers! Taiwanese officers helped first trained our 1st batch of NSmen.
1 question, why our history textbooks never mention Taiwan's help at all?

First batch of NSmen was in 1967.
1960s to 1980s were turbulent times in taiwan, martial law lasted from 1949 to 1980s.
Where they find taiwanese officers from, when Taiwan was under the rule of KMT?
Might as well say China helped us?

Maybe not first batch but early batches. The video never said, the "first" word was my own understanding. Sorry.
In the 3rd part, as per posted printscreens above, the host directly said Taiwan first helped Singapore.

I thought that during that period it is Taiwan who received aid from United States, not the other way round? Beside, those who are familiar with history know that Mr Lee Kwan Yew with his team paid an final visit to Mao Zedong during his last moment and the fact that Deng Xiaopeng also visited LKY, it is unlikely that these event would had happened if Taiwan really play a role in Singapore's 'diplomatic' as they claim???

we have a long history with taiwan and chiang kai shek was the one who was smart to help singapore out as we are the only chinese society independent other than the china communist in asia which Mr Chiang can trust. i think nobody provide much help to singapore compare to taiwan. or else how can SAF train the solders in taiwan?
it under table as taiwan not recognized as a country by china.

taiwan had ton of gold bars from china before the RED take over to control whole China. and Chiang Kai Shek hate the USA and the west.

it might be true as both LEE and Chiang had build a close relationship between 2 countries and of cos everything done under table because of mainland problems.
