hey peeps.. anyone of u know the name of this cough mixture? black in colour, quite powerful, name starting with the letter S.. i tink is sunsedyl or sth lidat.. pls help me cos my fren is seriously down with cough n i wanna recommend her this mixture.. tks! =)

probably a brand name like Panadol...
generic versions a lot... but if it contains codeine, you'll need a doctor's prescription or at least have it dispensed by a pharmacist -

If the cough is so bad, you can try this clinic at Parklane Shopping Centre (between Paradiz Centre & Peace Centre along Selegie Road). I think it's on level 5. The name of the clinic is United Clinic. They specialise in throat, nose and ear problems. It's a bit pricey. Usually about $50 to $60 per consultation with medication. But the medication usually works. Whenever I have a bad cough, the cough mixture given by normal GP usually doesn't work. I always end up going to that clinic. Usually I will recover within one or two days. In fact, the moment I take the first medication, my cough will usually simmer down. But of course strong medication will cause drowsiness. This is no exception. I will usually take one day (once in a while, two days) MC to rest at home. -
That cough mixture can only be prescribed by a doctor....there was this issue about this cough mixture some time ago...about pple getting addicted to it and tried ways and means to get hold of it as a "sleeping drug".... if i rem correctly....

it's the codeine.. in the absence of opiates, druggos will use cough syrup with codeine in it for their fix...
