Saw on soc.culture.singapore someone say tat if 3 volleys are a sign of celebration then wat does 2 shots mean.
Someone replied and said that it was a MARK OF RESPECT FOR THE DECEASED!!!!!!

Actually, the TCS cameras caught SM LKY mentioning something like "There's one more" or "They left one out" to Dr Tony Tan who was sitting next to him in the grandstands. The papers will never report this as it is quite embarrasing for the Parade commander who is a LTC to screw up.

The ultimate screwup was censored during the re-telecast today.
Was going to time the interval between each shot. Since someone mentioned that the 3rd shot was not fired because the planes were too near.
Disappointed. The screwup was censored. Camera was pointed at the crowd instead... well well. -

Think SAF is regretting appointing him as the parade commander... n must be kicking themselves for promoting him.
Think I remember seeing him on Channel Suria b4 the parade, when asked by the host what is the trick of making the parade a sucess n tips for the participants , he was very casual and said somthing like" Juz stay cool n remain focus "----Nice advice

Not entirely his fault. I heard from some officers that the LTC heard a "Proceed" from a radio earpiece that was attached. This 'proceed' was meant for the air force flyover (or something else, i cant remember exactly), but since there was only one channel for the radio the LTC probably misunderstood and made the mistake.

Give the commander a break lar...we oso dun know whether is it his fault or anyone else's fault so pls don't keep on rambling that it's the guy's fault for sure.
Also, pls dun condemn our NDP as it takes lots of manpower, hardwork and time to put it together...
