I believe this is different from SPG or Pinkerston Syndrome. The former just complain but they don't look up to Caucasians.Originally posted by skinnybeanie:I've known a few males who kept saying that SG women have high expectation, are "high maintenance", dunno how to please men.. etc.![]()
Agree this is different from SPG / PS.Originally posted by Jason Bourne:I believe this is different from SPG or Pinkerston Syndrome. The former just complain but they don't look up to Caucasians.
On the other hand, SPG (girls or guys) are those who think that Caucasian people and lifestlye are more superior than their own and would try to use
sex (usually) to try to associate with it.![]()
Perhaps they are resentful with some women they met who are materialistic and demanding. Trust me, I have dated a few. They are indeed real cases.Originally posted by skinnybeanie:Agree this is different from SPG / PS.
Side-track:
Tho the former do not necessarily look up to the Caucasians, they do look up to women from other countries. And i feel that it's not right that they put the womenfolk of their own nation down.
well, maybe they did had some bad experiences...Originally posted by Jason Bourne:Perhaps they are resentful with some women they met who are materialistic and demanding. Trust me, I have dated a few. They are indeed real cases.
However, I have to qualify I do not put down SG women even though I have met some of the aforementioned. FYI, the woman in my life now is a true SG girl.![]()
i have no personal story to share with conviction because i'm no angmo, so no SPG will touch me with a 12-foot pole. but we all know there are as many SPGs as lone Gs who hang around pubs in town. we also know asian guys don't rate well with white girls. but guess what? the feeling's mutual. we can say asian dicks are small, we can also say white pussies are loose. it's all in relative terms. no need for offence. just say it like it isOriginally posted by men_@_arms:Not really so many sarong party guys, its primarily a girl thing. coz in sg most asian guys don't particularly rate well with white girls, from what i hear and am not going to mention details for fear of offence.
But anywayz, the FACT is whatever of these so called SPGs, they are a MINORITY, so relax ffs. Sick and tired of hearing about it. Besides none of u have any real facts of anecdotes to back your claims, im the only one telling interesting stories/
errrr.. so did the article say there are a majority of spgs in singapore????Originally posted by Possum:Don't want to burst your bubble here, mate, but the Straits Times did publish an article on Sarong Party Guys in the Life! section some time in 1997. I remember the year 'cause I was back that year, and read about it. However, the term Asian is somewhat undefined. In England, Asians are refered to as being Indian or Pakistani. In Australia, on the other hand, it's us Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese, that sort. If my memory serves me right, the term Asian in the article was biased towards... the Malay guys! Surprised? I wasn't.
Bring it on!!
Definitely not. I don't think that was the intention of the article. Nor was it my intention to suggest that. But the numbers must be significant enough if forums and newspapers are talking about it, no?Originally posted by men_@_arms:errrr.. so did the article say there are a majority of spgs in singapore????
Not really. I think people talk about stuff because stuff is out of the ordinary, or non-provincial, quantity is not a necessarily a factor, rather the fact that weird stuff happens is the main factor for big publicity. And publicity rebounds too, e.g. "Straits times is covering this story, so must we to make our paper more differentiated or something"Originally posted by Possum:Definitely not. True, but the issue of SPGs has been going for a long time already. I'm confident to say that it's been happening even before the 80s or 60s. So if it's been happening for so long, it can't really be out of the ordinary, can it? Throw in the fact that more people are traveling around the world, exposing their minds to different cultures and sights. That's why I said the numbers must be higher now. But again, you do have a point.Originally posted by men_@_arms:Not really. Higher numbers yes. But i believe still a minority group of people are spgs (guys) or spgs (girls) in sg.Originally posted by Possum:True, but the issue of SPGs has been going for a long time already. To your statement about making our papers different from others, of course. That's what business is all about - differentiation. After all, it was published in the Life section (thankfully) and not in the main paper itself.
Bring it on!!
yea.. i didn't see any SPGs in NTUC today leh..Originally posted by men_@_arms:Higher numbers yes. But i believe still a minority group of people are spgs (guys) or spgs (girls) in sg...
I do not think I was implying that SPGs are becoming the majority. I'm just saying that numbers are rising for various reasons. And remember what a SPG stood for - not only do they prefer Caucasian counterparts, they put their own race down. I don't we call Singaporeans, who have interracial relationships or marriages, SPGs; only those with horrific pseudo accents and will not stand within a mile of Asian men (and vice versa).Originally posted by men_@_arms:Higher numbers yes. Then again, if you bring in the bit about more people travelling and being exposed to different cultures, and indirectly being exposed to bigger pe.. errr i mean different people, or engaging in interracial relationships, does that make these people (women) spgs??? Surely not.
I can imagine inter-racialness or SPGs being a gp topic lol.
