yes i am into trance... got converted in Australia back in '99, when Ayla, ATB, Gouryella, Alice Dj, Oakie, PvD etc were the craze, and Ministry of Sound and Slinky albums were simply swell.
Now, the MoS CDs suck. THe songs inside are so beng... hard to find good trance cds nowadays... milk bar is a trance club meh? So far in Singapore I can only find Liquid Room that plays half-decent trance music. Almost everywhere else is playing house music, and there is simply not as much energy in house than in trance...
sigh. yes, i'm a slave to commercialism... but gimme that anyday than the hard-to-dance-to house/breaks etc etc... brrr...
Great to find a tranceaddict in here. MOS CDs aren't much of a quality nowadays, that is why Ferry Corsten didn't remix Trance Nation 2003, probably because MOS wanted him to mix what he didnt want. He chose to concentrate on his new album. The only quality compilations now are from Gatecrasher, GodKitchens and Slinky, can't be wrong about them.
I know what you mean about energy level, LR caters to the expat spending crowd and operates slightly differently from the rest, that is why the music there is always fast and pumping. At least Adrian and Stingray do play trance, else i wouldnt know where you guys would be headed to.
Milkbar is not a trance club. 1st level is primirily a chill out bar where one can catch some soccer action but it is a nice chill out area. 2nd level is a small dancefloor where the campus concept where servers wear school uniforms initially started, there isnt much of a crowd during weekends. You may see nice sofas and a pool table there when there isnt any events. Kennerve from frontallabs holds residency there. He is a progressive house dj but he does play his fair share of trance on fridays or if some of us visits him or request for it.
It is the passion that drives us to push the trance sound out.
