heY.. jus read thru all the comments... i'm from jc and i know that there are differences b/w jc guys and poly guys but it has never occured to me that problems will arise as a result of that... so far my interactions with poly guys have always been pleasant
i guess we shldn't have any preconceived impressions cos it often leads to and over or under expectation which might cause problems.

huh of coz most of u voted for poly... coz all of u r from there...
for me poly sucks... students dye their hair, smoke, skip lectures, speak some moronic english (hmm we shouldn't call tat english anyway)
I wonder why all of them could be considered as 'students'... they spend most of their time having fun rather than studying
and those who said poly gals r better muz be mad... my school has infinite number of pretty gals... and not only pretty... they are smart and well brought up... mature enough to respect wat is relationship...not like some poly gals who know only how to flirt around (sounds cheap indeed)
and btw I'm from one of the top 5 jcs and I dun find the gals in my school nerdy or book maniac looking...
maybe my comments are stereotyping poly gals... but well... u all started it first... and nothing wrong I believe in expressing my opinion -

I am a poly student.
After looking through all the comments , i really couldnt take it anymore >_<. I know some of you might have some bad experience with JC/Poly guys/girls.
There are some important points that i would like whoever is reading this to think about~
1) I'm from Ngee Ann Poly and i have seen people dye hair, talk in singlish and etc...
2) I have also seen some really nice guys in Ngee Ann Poly (gentlemen ^-^)
3) Yes yes there are also some people who wear thick glasses and look like nerds from Ngee Ann.
4)I have JC friends who although dont dye hair (they cant ^-^), talk in singlish
5)Of course my JC friends are nice ^-^ that's why they are my friends!
6) Not to mention i have known some JC friends who look like nerds
Final Point) From the above points u can see that u can find all sorts of people in either JC or poly. So no more sterotyping please >_<.
Finally my personal opinion is if u want to JUDGE a person, do it by his/her CHARACTER ^-^.

JC guys not fun? like duh a huge percentage always go clubbing always doing some kind of sports and so on...

Question. if jc guys dont do sports why is the fastest schoolboy from JC? why do JC people fill up all the sports meets? There are but a handful of poly people.
But to say Poly dont do sports is a joke, cos i play soccer with lots of poly people.
Aiyah there are some JC people who are boring and nerdy as are Poly people, just think abit harder.
And there are moronic 'british' singaporeans in JCs and Polys...speaking queens english
and there are as many people who massacre the queen english in JC and Poly. You think JC people could care to speak proper english all the time? for what? GP is all they have on their minds and of course for most(besides books) a good time.

But if I had to choose, I'd say JC guys. I've been in a JC and going to a poly this July. Actually, JCs have got mature cute guys too. Polys have got nerdy childish guys too. -

I chose not to stay although I could have made my back back very easily. Why? It's not because of the people, but the A lvl system.
I agree some of the poly-goers might have sub-standard english but that doesn't mean all of us. However is that grounds to label them as non-students?
Somehow, I believe your definition of students is rather narrow and myopic. I suggest you get to know some top MIT students. They are far from the homey good boys you picture them to be.
As for flirting poly gals? I have no first hand experience. Have you? Highly doubtful. There are of course the black sheep from both jcs and polys.
Lastly I suggest that you go acquire some tact before you start mingling around with the more 'uncouth' ruffians in poly. Some of them are not as diplomatic as I am. -
poly or JC, it depends on what do you want to achieve in your later part of life.
