if you have read the Straits Times, you would have seen the article on how Simon make remarks (positive this time) that could have (I am sure it did) influence the voters. Either way, the number of callers will generate cashflow -- except that it is going the direction that Simon (and his producers, I guess) wants. At the end of the competition, it is a money thing -- who is more marketable and manageable, and have mass appeal. So at somepoint during the contest, it is all about $$ and not talent.
